In Friday Harbor, tour the Whale Museum and then take a half-day whale watching trip or head to Lime Kiln Point State Park to watch from shore. Drive south along the coast and stop at Westside Park to enjoy the view before going on to visit Pelindaba Lavender Farm, the Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm and the tasting room at San Juan Vineyards, just down the road from your room at Inn to the Woods.
History
Interested in a little history? Drive over to English Camp, part of San Juan Island National Historical Park, for a guided walk and then on to picturesque Roche Harbor and a walk through the Westcott Bay Sculpture Park. There's still time to visit American Camp for a walk through the colorful meadows or maybe a stroll along driftwood scattered South Beach before you enjoy one of the many fine restaurants in Friday Harbor.
All of the whale watching companies here on the island do their best to insure you have a memorable experience. Some have larger boats, some have smaller boats and some have faster boats. The choice is up to you.
If you need pet sitting try Animal Inn and Wellness Center.

One more thing....
Many of our shops and galleries stay open all year and with fewer visitors, it's a great time to visit the islands! In the early spring, the temperatures are between 40 and 60 degrees. Plants bloom; deer, red foxes and other island wildlife have their young and shorebirds nest. In the late fall and winter, the temperatures hover between 30 and 50 degrees. Just layer your clothes, bring a sweater and watch the Canadian Geese fly over.
